A little Night Owl

Good evening folks, I'm back with another post :)  I have had a day off today and as I woke up extremely early this morning it has seemed a long day, but no matter how many hours there are, there never seems to be enough to do all the crafting I want to do :) I did make this little card using a cute stamp set from Hobby Art called 'Forest Friends' I can't wait to use the little Fox now I have used the owl :)  I stamped the owl onto some  smooth white cardstock and coloured him with my Copic pens and then carefully cut him out.  I used a Memory Box die ' Beaded Background' to make the night sky and then popped it onto a white card blank so that the white would show through the holes.  I then cut out a moon from a Die-namics die set, 'Sun Moon and Stars' and then stamped the Woohoo! sentiment from Paper Smooches and the tiny Happy birthday from a Clearly Besotted set and die cut it out using a Sizzix speech bubble die from Sizzix.  I mounted all the elements onto the card using 3d foam pads.  I am really pleased with how this turned out as I din't have any preplanned ideas in my head when I started, it just seemed to develop as I went along :)

The other excitement of the day was the arrival of my planner stamp set from StudioL2e, the set is called 'Creative Plans' This set will be just perfect for stamping into my planner to make sure I make time for my crafting (hahaha, as if I would ever not make time for crafting!)  I love the 'Me Time! sentiment too :) I bet the 'buy' and 'wishlist' get used often too :)

Well I'm off to spend time with Kevin now as we watch the next episode of Dr. Foster.

Have a lovely evening and don't forget...make time to craft! :)

Congratulations

Yes, I am back again with another post.  As promised, I haven't left it quite as long between posts this time :) Yesterday we attended a Civil Partnership, it was held at a United Reformed Church in Manchester followed by a reception at a fabulous hotel nearby.  I was slightly worried about what I was going to do regarding the card for the occasion, but flicking through my stamps I found this cute one from Mama Elephant called 'Honey Bunny'  I have had this set for sometime but not actually used it and when I saw the cute little top hat in the set I knew immediately what I wanted to do with the image.

I used stitched landscapes from Memory Box to create the mound for the bunnies to sit on.  I embossed a panel of white card using an Embossalicious cloud folder and then cut it out with a stitched Rectangle die from Lawn Fawn and mounted this onto my card blank.  The bunnies were coloured with my Copics and I added the top hats for their heads and some white flowersoft to their tails.  I placed some enamel heart shapes onto the cloud background and a stamped sentiment to finish it off.  I was really pleased with the finished result, hopefully the happy couple liked it too :)

It's been a busy weekend as we have had a trip to Manchester for the Civic Ceremony and then today Kevin has been racing in the first of the season's cyclocross races which happened to be here in Skipton where we live.  The weather has been wonderful today and Kevin did really well considering the busy day we had yesterday along with the late night and perhaps the one or two beers he had :)

Thank you for dropping by and taking the time to check out my blog :)

Until next time....

Remember me?

Yes it's been a long time between posts (blush), lots of reasons for not having posted but I am not going into them all :) just to say that things have been a little unsettled lately but hopefully I will begin to blog a little more often now.  I have recently discovered the world of Instagram over the last few months and have found it's a little more of a 'quick' way to capture what goes on in my day than spending the time to Blog, so if you would like to follow me on Instagram then please feel free to click the Instagram icon on the right side of my Blog page.

One of the reasons for being absent is that our beautiful daughter has now relocated to Dubai to start her career with Emirates Airline as a Cabin Crew member, we cannot be more proud of her :)  Amy has worked hard to achieve this opportunity and although she is so far away, the wonders of technology have enabled us to share her experience in settling into her new apartment, unpacking all her new belongings kindly provided by the airline and seeing embark in her new role as she begins her training.  Amy we love you!

I have been doing some crafting :)  I am posting a few pictures of some of my recent cards and will put a brief description of the stamps I have used below each photo.

Until the next time (which will be soon, I promise!)
Happy Crafting!

Plain and Simple 'Happy Birthday'

Good evening and thanks for popping by.  It's the first of my two days off this week so I thought I would spend some time tidying my craft cupboard and making room for my growing stash of Project Life goodies :)    I thought it may help me if I had a separate place for all specific PL stash so that I am not having to rummage through all my card making stuff to find what I need, up to date I have one shelf allocated in one cupboard....Do you think this will be enough space?....Hmmm, somehow I don't think so LoL

I have my second page to show you today, I chose my favourite photo of Maisie to make into a 6 x 8 layout.  This photo is so sweet and I just felt it needed documenting, I hope you agree :)  I used some 12 x 12 paper that I cut down and added a 3 x 4 journal card with gold foiling down the edge.  I die cut Maisie's name with a Spellbinders alphabet die and added some enamel hearts and a cute little doggy button as embellishments.  I also stamped 'Love This!' and a paw print on the page and added a die-cut arrow.

Look out for my next page as it's well under way now :)

The card I have made is quite a simple one and I thought would be perfect as a male card, in fact I have someone in mind for it as unfortunately I have missed their birthday so it is going to be a little late :(  Hey ho, better late than never!

I used a Hero Arts Stamp and Cut set for this card.  I die cut the 'happy' three times and layered them onto each other to give the word dimension.  I then stamped the small 'birthday' in Memento 'Ladybug' ink.  I used a LittleB die from the Arrows set to cut out and piece in the chevron and then added some Doodlebug sprinkles to decorate.  I added 3d foam to the top layer which I had cut out using a stitched rectangle die from Mama Elephant and popped it onto a plain white card blank and hey presto! a quick and simple card made. :)

Well it's a beautiful evening here in North Yorkshire so I think my sweet little Maisie deserves a walk before we settle down to watch today's stage of the Giro d'Italia, for those of you who don't know, it's the Italian version of the Tour de France and it's pretty exciting already and we are only in the early stages :)

Hope you all have a good week and don't forget to keep dropping by as it's always lovely to see you :)

A Little Birthday Snack....

Good evening folks, thanks for dropping by.  I am showing the birthday card that I made for my brother a couple of months ago, it was only when I was going through my photos on my camera that I realised I hadn't blogged this card :)

The stamp is a Penny Black image 'A little bird..'  I stamped the image and then as always, coloured with my Copics.  I used some Webster's Pages paper with feather images on and cut them out using a Joy Crafts feather die.  I cut out the layer using a stitched rectangle, it could be the Lawn Fawn one, not sure now and then mounted it onto a white card blank.  I thought this was just perfect for my brother as he had an adopted Budgie which he was always moaning about :)

Well it's a short and sweet post this evening as I have made myself a list of things I want to accomplish today and I still have a few things to complete and it's now 8 pm!  Thanks again for taking the time to drop by, it means so much.

Flying High! and another craft addiction!

Good afternoon and sorry for such a long time with no posts, I do try to post as soon as I have something to show but time doesn't always allow.  I have been busy with my newest addiction......Project Life! :)  I have started with a small album, 6 x 8 and quickly realised, like with any other craft that there is always something you need to purchase :)  I sent off for some inserts and was convinced that I would have enough of a selection to make a start but unfortunately the inserts were not the correct layout for the pages I had chosen to do!  So I am now waiting delivery of the next set of inserts I ordered to arrive, in the mean time I have been onto the Becky Higgins website and purchased some 4x6 and 3x4 digital download kits, so I have been busy printing them out and rounding off corners for when my pockets arrive.  I have completed my first ever page and I am quite please :)  so here it is...

Project Life - Documenting Kevin's handy work

Onto my card...

I made this card using a stamp from Stamping Bella 'Bentley is Blown Away'.  I stamped the image onto some PI smooth cardstock and coloured her skin and the balloons with my Copics, I then paper pieced the dress from a paper pad I have had forever!  Wild Rose Studio Annabelle's Meadow.  The cloud is a die from Lawn Fawn, Spring Showers and the stamped sentiment is from an old Woodware stamp set, not sure what it's called but it has an aeroplane and a hotair balloon on it.  I used a die from Die-namics to cut out the stitched layer, Blueprints 13.  I just used my pale blue copic to scribble a background sky and decided against any other embellishments.  Hope you like it :)

Well that's all I have time for today, thanks for taking the time to drop by and until next time....Happy Crafting :)

'Hello'

Good evening folks :)  It's been another beautiful sunny day here in the Yorkshire Dales. Managed to get all my washing dry on the line :)  Maisie has been spending time with me in the garden, she is enjoying the warmth and being outside. The recovery is going well and she is almost back to her old self.

Today's lovely sunshine has been tinged with a bit of sadness, one of the little lambs in the field at the bottom of the garden was very weak and didn't look too good this morning when I went down to see them all, (I fill up the water for the sheep as the farmer lives about 17 miles away)  I rang the farmer as soon as I saw it this morning but sadly it passed away :(  I don't think I would ever make a farmer's wife I was so upset! I guess you just have to accept that not every lamb makes it.

Well onto something a little more cheerful.  I made this card for a friend who I haven't been in touch with for a while and felt that I should send her a little 'Happy Mail'  I made this using a Lawn Fawn stamp set called 'A little Bird Told me' and a die which is also from Lawn Fawn.  I cut the word Hello from the top layer of card and then raised it using 3d foam.  I think the paper may have been from Lawn Fawn too. The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted.  I used stitched squares from Memory Box to make the layers.

Thank you for dropping by and taking the time out to read my little blog, it means so much.

.......Until next time.
