On Tuesday 27th May our beautiful cat Molly was sadly knocked down and killed by a neighbour's car. Molly was a rescue cat that we have had for around 4 years, she had a rough beginning but came to our loving home and was loved and cherished by myself, Kevin and Amy. Molly was full of personality, and although she was not really much of a lap cat she did enjoy a few moments (at her choosing) to curl up on your knee, mostly when you should have been doing something else :) Molly was never far away but was outside at every opportunity, she occasionally made herself at home on next door's bed! Molly will be missed so much and I can't begin to express the heartache I am feeling right now, it's amazing what a huge emptiness a little cat can leave when they go :(
I made a little card yesterday for Kevin to let him know how much I appreciate all the difficult things he has had to do, confirming that it was our Molly that was on the neighbour's drive and then finding a resting place in the garden and burying her.
Here's the card. I have used stamps from a new range to me, they are Clearly Besotted, the stamp sets are lovely and lots of them have matching dies which are reasonably priced and the customer service is excellent. The set I have used is called April Showers, I have stamped onto papers from a BoBunny pad, Prairie Chic collection and then used the die to cut out the brolly. I embossed the background with a cloud stencil that I have and then die cut some grey clouds using a Memory Box die. The little raindrops were stamped and then I added some Glossy Accents to them. The sentiment (which I love!) is from the April Showers stamp set. I added two little enamel dots as accents.
Hope to bring a more cheerful post next time, thank you for popping by.
I would like to enter this into the following challenge

Oh Dawn.
ReplyDeleteHow dreadful. I cannot even imagine how you and Kevin are feeling, what an awful thing for you both to go through.
I send you all my love and thoughts and hope over the next months you find comfort in knowing Molly had a lovely home with you.
What a lovely card to make for Kevin (sometimes we forget that the Men in our lives feel as bad as we do, and it sound like he did have such a bad day too).
So Sorry.
