Hello There!

Good morning, hope you are all well, it's been a very wet cold weekend here in North Yorkshire but at least the sun is shining today :)  I made this card on Thursday using a Mo Manning digi stamp.  I have coloured it with my Prismacolor Pencils and then layered onto some mint green card.  I glittered a small doily and mounted it onto some pretty striped paper and more mint green card.  I have added a sentiment which I printed out onto Safmat and again, layered onto mint green card.  I have used paper roses from Wild Orchid Crafts and some sparkling gems.  looking forward to using the other baby fairies that came with the download. Well off to take Maisie for her morning walk and then perhaps some more crafting ;) x

Katy Alice Crafts

Today I want to share with you some of my niece's work.  Katy Alice held her first craft stall last night at a local school and I was so proud of her.  The work she has produced is of exceptional quality and although she was very nervous about the event, she had no reason to worry, the comments were all positive and complimentary.  Katy has taken on some commission work and hopes to build up her little venture, if you would like to see more of her fabulous work you can find her here

These are the pieces that I purchased, they are just beautiful and I will treasure them.
Well done Katy and I wish you every success x

Prismacolor Pencils and First attempt

Here are my new pretty Prismacolor pencils :)

...and here is my first attempt at colouring with them.  I am so pleased with the results I have got from them, think they are amazing!  I used a digital stamp, downloaded from Mo Manning. I used white odorless spirit and blending stumps to blend the colours.

New Project and First entry

I have eventually got round to starting my 'Scrapbook, Diary and Ideas' book.  This project has been in my mind for sometime now but in various different guises.  I am often flicking through craft magazines and thinking.  'Oh, that's pretty' or 'What a clever Idea' and more often than not... 'I want that!', but then the magazine gets put away and I can't remember which one I saw what in...Bet you've all been there! :)  I also see some fabulous scrapbook pages made by people who come to classes and groups at work and think I should be making the most of the photos I take, so here I can combine my book with the odd mini scrapbook page.  The idea of keeping a diary every day stems from the Christmas when I was about 10 and I received my first 5 year diary, needless to say I didn't enter something everyday but when I look back at the few things I did enter they bring back so many memories so hopefully the entries I make into this book will do the same for me in the future.  So here is is!

Spring Clean

I have been really busy today...Spring cleaning my craft room :)  The rest of the house can wait for another day!  I have dusted and polished every shelf and surface, vacuumed every nook and cranny and it's now ready for me to mess it up when I craft again :)

The card I am showing today was made yesterday.  I have used a digi image from Wee Stamps and coloured with my copics, I have cut out the image with a scalloped nestie and a larger nestie using pink polkadot card.  I have used some background paper from my stash and then punched a butterfly border using my Martha Stewart butterfly edge punch.  I have added some small butterflies as embellishments and a 'Happy Birthday' greeting.

A couple of Quick Cards

Good morning, just finished off a couple of quick cards that I started while away on my hols, I took some kits that I could use just in case I got some spare time or some rainy weather, I got neither really :)  We were so busy walking and spending time with family and there was no rain to talk of, but I did manage a little time to craft.  Here they are:

For this card I have used a Hunkydory kit that came free with their magazine, I loved the pink take on the Union Jack.  I used a background paper that also came with the kit and added some paper roses to tie in with the theme.

I am entering this card into Totally Papercrafts Challenge - Things with Wings

This Thank You card was made using some free Nitwit papers and toppers.  I have cut out flowers from some remaining background paper, added diamantes and faux stitching and added some Glossy Accents to the rabbits nose to complete the card.

Well off for a pampering session at the hairdressers shortly, wishing you a wonderful Friday 13th :)

Holiday in the Lake District April 2012

We have just returned from a fabulous week in the Lake District, we stayed in Coniston which is a beautiful village at the foot of Coniston Old Man.  The little cottage we stopped in was fabulous!  It was well equipped and we couldn't have wished for anything better.  Here is a photo taken from the kitchen door out onto the little garden and the field where we watched the rabbits each morning and evening.

We had a couple of days by ourselves, we did a couple of lovely walks around the area, here is Kevin and Maisie at the shore of Lake Coniston

Maisie loved the water, we found it difficult to keep her away from it :)

On Wednesday, David, Kevin's bother and family, Sharon and Ross arrived with their caravan, they were booked into a campsite a couple of miles away so we spent lots of time with them, here I am waiting for them to arrive before we set off to climb Coniston Old Man

And here's the group as we set off, not knowing that we would take the wrong route and the total climbing and descending time would be 7.5 hours!

The views from the top were well worth all the aches and pains that we suffered at the end of the day :)

And just to prove that I made it to the top too :)

All in all a wonderful holiday, loved every minute of it, totally refreshed and ready for some crafting :)  Perhaps another scrapbook page or two is in order? ;)
