Live Life To The Fullest

Good afternoon everyone! Well here comes the rain again ready for the Bank holiday weekend!  Nevermind, all the flags and Bunting that are appearing daily really brighten my day.  I have made this little card using a Stamping bella Ketto stamp, she is so cute and quite a little image.  I have coloured her with copics and added a little glitter and some pearls to her wand, shoes and the flowers on her dress.  I have cut out a couple of scalloped circles with my nesties and used some K&Co papers from the playful fun range (think that's what the range is called, sorry if I am mistaken) I have added some pearl swirls and some card candi.  The sentiment is from the Whimsy stamp and die range.  Hope you are all enjoying your Thursday, I am thinking of having a colouring session with my Prismacolor pencils now and I have my craft class tonight, looking forward to meeting the ladies there.  Enjoy the rest of your day.

Anyone For Tea?

Good afternoon everyone!  Not posted for a little while so am hoping to make up for that in the next few days :)  It's been glorious weather hasn't it!  Not quite as warm today but the sun has eventually made an appearance and it's becoming a lovely afternoon.  The card I am showing today is another of  Mo Manning's fabulous images, I just love her work!  I have coloured her with my copics and forced myself to go out of my comfort zone and use red!  I am not a lover of red but fancied making something a little patriotic and I couldn't do that without using red :)  I have added a touch of glitter to the paper doily and embellished with roses from Wild Orchid Crafts.  I have used paper and card from my crafting stash and some red, clear and blue gems to complete the card.  The sentiment has been done on my PC using Safmat and put onto a punched out tag shape. Well talking of tea..I think I am need of a brew myself now but as I don't drink tea it will have to be a coffee :)  Hope you are all well and just a little thank you to those of you that take the time to leave comments and words of encouragement, it really means a lot to me.  Thank you until next time.

Especially For You

Good evening, a bit of a 'late in the day' post from me today, I did plan on doing this earlier but friends arrived so have been chatting and catching up which has been lovely.  It's been a glorious day here in the Yorkshire Dales, I have enjoyed some time out in the garden and a little crafting inside when it got a little too hot for me :)  I have made this card using a Mo Manning image I downloaded the other day.  I have coloured her with my copics and then cut out with a nestie shape.  The sentiment is a stamp and matching die so you can cut out around the shape of the stamp perfectly.  I have added a rosette with button and a metal embellishment made with the Epiphany Studio punch.  I have embossed the background card with a Cuttlebug embossing folder and inked the edges of all the papers and card with Distress Ink, Peacock Feathers, one of the new Tim Holtz Spring limited edition colours.

Well off to catch up with the Tour of Italy cycling event now on tv with Kevin.  Sleep well everyone.

Card For My Nephew and a Crafty Gadget

Yesterday it was my nephews 16th birthday...my, how time passes... I had seen this Mo Manning image a while ago and thought of him, he is a real games addict and to top it all he looks rather like the character in the image :)  I have coloured with my promarkers and added Glossy Accents to the can and the games console to give texture and dimension.  I have used a corrugated card for the card blank and some black polka dot and gingham paper for the layers.  The Happy Birthday bunting has been stamped onto Kraft card and then inked round the edges with Distress ink, took me ages to cut it all out but I was pleased with the result so well worth the effort.  The bunting stamps are from Little Claire Designs.  I really happy with this card as I find male cards really challenging.

And now to my new crafting gadget! :)

I saw this in a crafting magazine a few days ago and thought it was just ideal for my 'Windmills of my Mind' book that I started a little while ago (see older post)  I love the fact that you can add little phrases or graphics before the date.  It's from American Crafts and says Dear Lizzie on the handle.  Then there is the fact that it's pink too :)  Will look forward to using it on my next book entry.

Hope you have all had a good day so far, until next time, take care.

Neapolitan Ice-Cream :)

Good morning everyone!  Another Monday has come around, don't know where the weeks go :)  At the moment I am typing the sun is shining (Hurray!) but don't think it's forecast to last :( The card I am showing today is another of my tag cards.  I have done the background of the tag using Distress Stains again, I have used Vintage Photo, Antique Linen and Victorian Velvet.  I have stamped using a Kanban stamp, not sure what it's called but it is a butterfly and script background, I then used the smaller butterflies that come with the stamp set and stamped them onto the paper I have chosen to use (Prima - Nature Garden Collection, Midsummer's Eve).  I have embossed and sanded some Core'dinations card and inked the edges using Tea Dye Distress ink.  The card blank is a ribbed Kraft card, I love this card, I love the colour and texture.  The sentiment is a Kaisercraft stamp from a set of sentiments.  I have added some pretty pearls to the butterflies to finish it off.  I couldn't help thinking that the colours I have chosen for the tag background look like Neapolitan Ice-cream, Mmmm, may have to get some next time I go shopping :)
Hope you all have a good day whatever the day brings for you, take care till next time.

Enjoy Life's Moments

Today has been a very busy crafting day, I have made this card using a tag which I have inked with Distress Stains, Dried Marigold and Tumbled Glass.  I have stamped with Craftwork Cards stamp set Graceful Grasses and Birdcages, a set which I love using.  I have used some Core'dinations card which I have embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder and sanded, I have inked the edge with Distress ink pad, Frayed Burlap.  I used some BoBunny Double Dots in orange as a background paper and added a sentiment, gems and a birdcage charm to complete the card.  I have also done some sample cards for work using Wellington the Bear from Docrafts and Lucy Cromwells (Papermania) pretty decoupage but not had chance to take pics yet.

Earlier this morning I had to go into town to get Maisie some food from the local pet shop, she is on a special diet as she can't tolerate wheat and is now on a 'raw' food diet which I must say looks disgusting but Maisie is loving it and it seems to be agreeing with her and even though she has only been on it for just over 2 weeks she seems to be looking really healthy.  Anyway, I digress! :)  I happened to pop into one of my favourite shops in Skipton just to have a quick look round and found the most adorable storage jars and some very pretty sticky tape...Well I just had to have them...I needed them ;)  So here they are, wish I had bought a couple more jars now so it may require another visit very soon :)

Off to see my brother now as it's his birthday today so wishing you all a lovely evening.

Tree and grasses

Yesterday I had a lovely time demonstrating Tim Holtz Distress Stains at work (Samuel Taylor's, Embsay).  This is the card I made as a sample to take with me.  I have used the stains to create a background, I used, Tumbled Glass, Weathered Wood and dried Marigold.  I then stamped onto the background with an Indigoblu stamp,Tree-mendous and added some grasses from the Craftwork Cards stamp set, Graceful Grasses and Birdcages.  There are a few bird silhouettes in the last stamp set so I added two little birds sat in the tree to finish off the scene.  I then mounted the image onto some plain Kraft card and some embossed and sanded core'dinations card.  The card blank is made from ribbed Kraft card.  I had a little problem with the Happy Birthday sentiment as it was white and it just looked awful, so I tried using the stains on the background of the banner and it took really well, so at least it now blends in nicely with the colours used in the image.  I really wasn't sure at all about this card when I had finished it but as it sat on my desk on Friday night I came to like it more and more.

Well it's the Skipton Waterways Festival this weekend so I am hoping to go and look at all the decorated narrowboats this afternoon once Kevin gets back from his cycle ride.  At least the weather is looking good today :)  Hope you all have a lovely bank holiday weekend.

Chick, chick, chick, chick chicken...

...Lay a little egg for me :)

I have made this card specifically for a challenge which I don't normally do but was inspired by the Little Claire's Blog challenge this time.  It's called 'Doing The Rounds' and has to include circles or spots.  I have chosen to use the Little Claire Chicken stamp too as I think she is just sooo cute :)  I have used a circle kraft card blank and then cut out layers with my circle nesties.  I've added paper roses from Wild Orchid Crafts and three little pearls.
