Let's Shell-ebrate :)

Hi everyone and hope you've had a good Monday :)  I've had a busy day at work but only one more until I finish to get ready for the big caravan trip to see the Tour de France in Yorkshire, I'm on a countdown now, the caravan is almost ready to go, just needs clothes and food and we're off :)

I have made a little card using a cute little stamp from a Paper Smooches set called 'Party Posse'  I stamped him out and then paper pieced the shell and party hat, the rest has been coloured with Copic pens.  I chose a honeycomb embossing folder to make a background as I thought it went well with the shell shape.  I then added a couple of punched borders and a sentiment that I stamped onto a banner shape and a couple of matching strips to tie in with the colours I had used on the image.

Thank you for calling by and hopefully I will get chance to do another post before we go away.

Until next time....

Tour de France and Amy's Birthday Card

Hi and thanks for dropping by, hope you are all well.  I have had a day doing jobs around the house and a bit of shopping in prepartation for our camping trip to the Velofest  (Tour de France camp site) at Kilnsey near Grassington.  We are only a few miles from Kilnsey but anyone who knows us will know that Kevin is a keen cyclist and we follow the TDF ever year, even if we are sat at home in front of the TV :)  The tour map goes up on the wall in the living room and we can see each stage as it progresses.  We have booked on the site from Thursday 3rd July to Monday 7th July and we are hoping to see the first two stages of the Tour de France as it passes by the campsite on the Saturday and then again on the Sunday as it goes past Bolton Abbey which is a few miles away. There are lots of events happening on the site, Giant screens to watch the race and groups on in the evenings as well as food and drink.  Really looking forward to  this year's race and getting so excited, can't wait to get my festival wrist band :) yes I know that sounds a bit sad but, hey ho, I won't be the only one Lol.

Well at last I can show you the card I have made for Amy's birthday, it arrived safely in Thailand last week along with the parcel of goodies we sent for her birthday.

I used a stamp set from Mama Elephant called 'Type it' and the matching die set.  I stamped the typewriter and then cut it out, I used a pale Copic marker to add a bit of colour to it.  I then stamped out the message on the sheet of paper stamp and again cut it out with the matching die.  I cut a circle out of the pink card and punched out some holes to make it look like a piece of paper out of a note book, I did this by using my Bind it All and then I rounded off the edges with a corner rounder.  I cut out 'Amy' using my Cricut machine and an arrow from a Little B set of dies.  I added some enamel dots and a little 'love you' sentiment that I stamped onto a banner die cut shape. The backing paper came from a Bobunny 6x6 pad called Prairie Chic.

Well got to dash now as I am off for my Pilates class so thanks again for taking the time to pop by my blog.

Puppy Dog Eyes

Hi and thanks for dropping by.  I hope you are enjoying the lovely weather we are having at the moment, not sure that it is set to last but it's great while it's here :)

The card I am showing today is a little card I made using a stamp from a Paper Smooches set called 'Woofers and Tweeters' I have stamped the image onto white card and coloured with my Copics, I then cut out the image, I think the stamp set has matching dies which I may invest in as it's always easier to cut them out using a die rather than risk cutting off tails with a pair of scissors :)  I cut out a circle from the top layer of card and then I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder that I got with my Cuttlebug probably 11 or 12 years ago, it's the first time I have used it (the folder not the Cuttlebug Lol) I then backed the cut out circle with some checked paper I had in my stash (sorry not sure what the paper is called).  I stamped the sentiment which is from a Clearly Besotted stamp set 'Sweet little sentiments'.  The cloud is cut out using a Memory Box die and I stamped the bone from the Woofers and Tweeters set onto the cloud.  I added some little enamel dots to lead up to the cloud.

I am loving these cute Paper Smooches stamps and making clean and simple style cards.  Well I have had some 'Happy Post' arrive this morning so off to check out my new purchases :)  Thanks for taking the time to call by my blog.

Until next time...

Buttons, Blooms and Butterflies

Good evening and welcome to today's post, I hope your week has gone well and you are looking forward to the weekend ahead.   I have had a relaxing evening, a walk along the canal and fed the ducklings, I've topped up the water for the sheep in the field at the bottom of the garden and fed the neighbours chickens with some leftover lettuce, feeling like a proper farmer :)  I am so grateful for the countryside we live in.

Well the card I am showing today is one that I made for a demo at work a few Saturdays ago.  I stamped the flowers from the Justrite Stitched flower stamp set onto some Amy Tangerine and Twirly Girly papers and then cut them out.  I used an M-bossabilities folder called Dotted Flowers/Buttons and added some ribbon and buttons to embellish.  I was so pleased with the finished card that I ended up buying the stamps and embossing folders so I could make another card at home.  That's the drawback of getting to use things to demo with...you want them all! Lol :)

Thanks for popping by and have a wonderful weekend.

Father's Day Card - 2

Good evening folks, hope you have had a good Monday, My day has been busy but I am enjoying the beautiful evening here in the Yorkshire Dales, the sun is shining and the sky is still blue, just love this part of the day.

I have the second Father's day card that I made to show you today.  I have used a Creative Expressions Singles stamp called 'Lighthouse'  I stamped and then coloured the image with Copic pens.  I cut out the image and the stamped sentiment using a Spellbinders label die.  The background card has been embossed with a Couture Creations embossing folder 'Tied Together'  I love the verse that comes with this stamp set.

Well that's two posts in as many days :)  Thanks for taking the time to pop by and hope to see you again soon.

Father`s Day Card - 1

Good evening, and hope you have enjoyed your weekend.  I have had a busy weekend, work on Saturday and today we have been visiting my parents and taking gifts and cards to our dads.  We had an early start with a FaceTime call from Amy in Thailand to her dad to wish him Happy Father's day.  It's always lovely to chat with her and catch up on all her news and it's so reassuring to see her and know that she is well and happy.

I am showing the first of the Father's day card that I have made this year, this is the one that I made for my dad, he loves his gadgets and his iPhone so when I saw this stamp set I thought it was just perfect to make a card for him.  The stamp set I have used is a new release from Clearly Besotted Designs called 'Text Me'  I also bought the die set that goes with it.  I stamped out the phone image with black ink and then cut out the shape with the matching die.  I then stamped out the words and icons into the phone shape.  The word 'Dad' is die cut from an alphabet die.  The Happy Father's day sentiment is from LOTV.  I have raised the phone image and sentiment with foam pads. The chevron paper is from a 6x6 paper pad from Doodlebug, Kraft in Color.  I then added some enamel dots to finish off.

We still have Kevin's dads's card to deliver later this evening, so I will post a pic once he has received it.  I just thought I would do a quick post while the chicken is roasting for tea.  Thanks very much for popping by and for leaving comments.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Plant Smiles

Well good evening or morning which ever it happens to be when I actually finish my post :) This is a first for me as I am doing this post on my new tablet device instead of my PC and it's quite late for me to still be awake, I am normally tucked up in bed and fast asleep at this hour :) I have had the first of my two days off work now and I am making the most of every moment. I have spent some time visiting my parents and had lunch with them. I have spent some time sorting out my tablet and getting all my accounts set up and working out how to use the thing :) think I have it fairly sussed now.  Looking forward to another day off tomorrow and hoping to do some crafting as I have two Father's day cards to make yet, I know, I shouldn't leave it until the last minute but there's nothing like a bit of pressure to get the crafty braincells going :)

The card I have to show today has been made using a cute Paper Smooches stamp set called 'Perky Plants" I have stamped the image onto some patterned paper, I think it came from a 6x6 paper pad from Prima, but not sure. I then cut out the image and mounted it onto another stamped image on a Spellbinders die cut shape. The embossed background was made using a folder that I got free with a magazine. The sentiment came with the stamp set (just love the font!) I added some googly eyes to the flower as it just seemed to cry out for them :) I finished off with three little enamel dots.  I hope you like my quirky flower card, I had fun making it :)

Well hopefully I haven't made too many mistakes doing this post. I am struggling to balance the tablet,  Gypsy the cat and Maisie the dog on my lap. I am sure I could have done this 10 times faster on my PC :) but at least I have had the company of my pets :) I think my bed is calling me now so I will say goodnight for now and thank you all for dropping by and taking a look at my blog.

Sweet dreams

DINO-MITE

Well it's been nearly two weeks since my last post (sounds like the start of a confessional!) but I have been busy crafting. I have a few makes lined up ready for posts but thought I would just show you this little card today. I made it using a stamp set that I got from Clearly Besotted stamps, it's called 'Dino-mite'. I stamped the cute Dinosaur and coloured him with Copics and then I cut him out with the matching Die which I purchased along with the stamps set (well it would have been rude not to get them both! Lol)  I then cut out a background shape with a Spellbinders label die and embossed it using a Darice footprint folder.  I made a card blank from some 300 gsm white card and then stamped the greeting straight onto the card.  The little speach bubble is a die that I got from Stampin' Up, it's a Sizzix framelets die set called 'Word Bubbles'.  I then stamped the 'Roar!' which came with stamp set onto the bubble.

Thank you for popping by and taking the time to check out my blog and those of you who take the time to comment, it means so much.

Until next time....
