First Christmas Card and A Trip To Thailand

It's been a busy few days here as we have been getting ready for Amy's departure to Thailand, we took her to the airport on Tuesday and she will be away until February next year. Amy is going to Phang Nga near Phuket to do a teaching certificate and hopefully enjoy some of the amazing experiences of Thailand.  It's going to be strange not having her here for Christmas but with all the wonderful advances in technology we can keep in touch, have spoken to her lots already and it's only been a couple of days :)  Here's a photo of Amy and Kevin at the check in desk at Manchester Airport, there were a few tears as she left us (from me!) and more once we got home but once I had heard she had arrived ok and was settled in her hostel where she will stay for the next few days I was much happier :)

I managed to finish off the card I started yesterday.  This was the set I was using at the demo at Samuel Taylors on Saturday, it's a Sizzix stamp and die set by Tim Holtz called Snowman Blueprint.  I stamped the snowman several times onto watercolour card/paper and cut him out using the matching dies.  I then coloured the image with Distress markers and a water brush.  I layered him up with silicone glue and mounted him onto some black and blue card before putting it all onto a cream card blank.  This is the first Christmas card I have made for myself, I've done lots lately at work for Demos but I must get a move on and make some more! :)

Hope you are well on this Halloween day and thanks for popping by and taking the time to comment on my posts, really appreciate it.

Songbirds

Hi there and thanks for popping by :)  I really appreciate the lovely comments you leave and the time you take to check out my blog.

I have had a busy day today so far, I started with a Pilates class, the second of my three classes in a week!  I was still feeling the aches from my class on Monday but I am sure it's all worth it :)

We then drove over to see my parents in Barnoldswick, it was an opportunity for them to see Amy before she leaves next Tuesday for her 4 month stay in Thailand. Then there has been the general washing and housework to catch up on :(

I have managed to finish my wall hanging that I started a couple of days ago.  I have used a Stampendous stamp, Minuet Bird and the sentiment that goes with it.  I stamped the image onto some kraft card and then coloured with my Prismacolor pencils.  I used the Memory Box music die which I thought looked perfect with the music on the stamp and added some flowers and leaves to opposite corners.  The idea of a wall hanging came today, I was just going to make a card but I liked the idea of turning it into something to decorate my craft room  wall so I dug out the small amount of beading stash I have and added a chain to the top through some eyelets and I made a little charm using a Tim Holtz tassel and a couple of beads, a crystal and a bird charm.....Now to find the perfect place to hang it :)

Owl Always Love You

Good morning!  Hope you are all well and enjoying the weekend.  I have decided to have a crafty day today and have started by tidying my craft room and I now have a lovely clear desk to 'messy' up which won't take long I am sure :)

The card I am showing today was made for Kevin, just as a little 'I Love you card'.  I used a digital image from Mo Manning (Here), it was available for a short time as a $1 donation to 'Project Cure' but is now at full price.  I coloured the image with my Copic pens and then added some glitter on the frosty branch.  I cut out with a circle die and mounted it onto the black die cut scallop circle.  I used some Echo Park 'Times and Seasons' paper from my stash as a background and used a flourish die and an owl charm to embellish the card.  I finished off with a sentiment I printed out on my pc and added some faux stitches with a white gel pen.

Well, off to do some crafting now and make a mess of my craft room in the process!  Thanks for popping by.

Hugs

The Wanderer Returns!

It's been a while, I know :)

I've had a little break from my crafting as I was feeling pressure to craft when I didn't really want to and therefore not enjoying my hobby.  I have been on a bit of a 'get fit' regime and have started swimming, cycling and Pilates and all that takes time and effort.  I am feeling the benefits from it though and intend to continue but as the darker nights and colder weather are setting in I thought I would return to my crafting stash and look at it all with 'fresh' eyes.

The tag I am showing today was inspired by the fabulous walk I had yesterday along the river Wharfe from Grassington to Burnsall and back with my favourite companion, (don't tell Kevin!) Maisie the Cocker-Spaniel.  We set off with a little bit of blue sky but it soon disappeared and left us with a grey and cloudy canopy but the view around us was far from grey!  The grass was still a luscious green but was sprinkled with bright orange, gold, yellow and red leaves and so many shiney mahogany conkers.  The river was clear and flowing quite fast but not so fast as to churn it up and make it brown.  There were walkers in bright rain coats ahead of us and children kicking up the still dry leaves.  It was a wonderful autumn walk!
