Flying High! and another craft addiction!

Good afternoon and sorry for such a long time with no posts, I do try to post as soon as I have something to show but time doesn't always allow.  I have been busy with my newest addiction......Project Life! :)  I have started with a small album, 6 x 8 and quickly realised, like with any other craft that there is always something you need to purchase :)  I sent off for some inserts and was convinced that I would have enough of a selection to make a start but unfortunately the inserts were not the correct layout for the pages I had chosen to do!  So I am now waiting delivery of the next set of inserts I ordered to arrive, in the mean time I have been onto the Becky Higgins website and purchased some 4x6 and 3x4 digital download kits, so I have been busy printing them out and rounding off corners for when my pockets arrive.  I have completed my first ever page and I am quite please :)  so here it is...

Project Life - Documenting Kevin's handy work

Onto my card...

I made this card using a stamp from Stamping Bella 'Bentley is Blown Away'.  I stamped the image onto some PI smooth cardstock and coloured her skin and the balloons with my Copics, I then paper pieced the dress from a paper pad I have had forever!  Wild Rose Studio Annabelle's Meadow.  The cloud is a die from Lawn Fawn, Spring Showers and the stamped sentiment is from an old Woodware stamp set, not sure what it's called but it has an aeroplane and a hotair balloon on it.  I used a die from Die-namics to cut out the stitched layer, Blueprints 13.  I just used my pale blue copic to scribble a background sky and decided against any other embellishments.  Hope you like it :)

Well that's all I have time for today, thanks for taking the time to drop by and until next time....Happy Crafting :)

'Hello'

Good evening folks :)  It's been another beautiful sunny day here in the Yorkshire Dales. Managed to get all my washing dry on the line :)  Maisie has been spending time with me in the garden, she is enjoying the warmth and being outside. The recovery is going well and she is almost back to her old self.

Today's lovely sunshine has been tinged with a bit of sadness, one of the little lambs in the field at the bottom of the garden was very weak and didn't look too good this morning when I went down to see them all, (I fill up the water for the sheep as the farmer lives about 17 miles away)  I rang the farmer as soon as I saw it this morning but sadly it passed away :(  I don't think I would ever make a farmer's wife I was so upset! I guess you just have to accept that not every lamb makes it.

Well onto something a little more cheerful.  I made this card for a friend who I haven't been in touch with for a while and felt that I should send her a little 'Happy Mail'  I made this using a Lawn Fawn stamp set called 'A little Bird Told me' and a die which is also from Lawn Fawn.  I cut the word Hello from the top layer of card and then raised it using 3d foam.  I think the paper may have been from Lawn Fawn too. The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted.  I used stitched squares from Memory Box to make the layers.

Thank you for dropping by and taking the time out to read my little blog, it means so much.

.......Until next time.

Snail Mail

Hi there and thanks for dropping by.

The last week and a half have been a little stressful so I haven't managed to do much crafting lately. We are coping with a very poorly Maisie at the moment :(  Sadly Maisie has suffered a slipped disc which has ruptured and has resulted in major surgery to remove the disc.  The procedure was not straight forward but the surgeon has assured us that she will be considerably better now that the disc has been removed. The following days have been very worrying for us as Maisie seemed to go down hill following the operation and was totally off her food and not drinking.  It has taken a lot of time, love and care to syringe feed her, make sure that she got her medicines so that she was wasn't in any pain and keep her calm, warm and comfortable.  The good news is that yesterday she turned a corner and is now eating greedily, wagging her tale ten to the dozen and wandering round the house....albeit slowly :)  The relief to see her looking brighter is wonderful!  It's a long road to full recovery but we are feeling much more positive now :)

The card I have to show you today is one I made a couple of weeks ago using a Lawn Fawn stamp set called 'Gleeful Garden'.  As always, I have coloured the images with Copic pens and cut them out using the co-ordinating dies.  I used a pale blue Copic pen to create a background sky and then arranged the cute snails, grasses and toadstool to create a little garden scene.  I cut a tiny slit in the snails shell (I can assure you he felt no pain!) and slotted the envelope into the slit so he could carry it :)  The sentiment is a Clearly Besotted stamp from the set 'Sweet little sentiments'.

I am off to give Maisie a cuddle now and chill out while I watch a bit of Create and Craft TV.  Hope you all have a fabulous week.

Love
Dawn and Maisie
