Romance Is In The Air

Hi everyone and thanks for taking the time to pop by.  I was determined that today I would make a card as it's my only day off this week and if I did't spend some of it crafting then I would go to bed sad :(  Anyway card complete, I can sleep I can go to bed happy (does this sound a little like an addiction?)  The stamp I have used is from a  Little Claire Design stamp set, Butterfly Tree, the sentiment is from Little Claire Designs, Garden set. I stamped the two separate birds onto the branch that was supporting the birdhouse and then coloured in with my copics.  I added a green gingham punched heart.  I then cut out the image with my scalloped nestie and inked round the edge with Spun Sugar Distress ink and mounted it onto a heart circle nestie cut from pale green card.  I have added pink and white roses, pink and green leaf pins, card candi, pink ribbon and some diamantes.  The sentiment was stamped onto green gingham paper.  I added some faux stitches round the edge of the heart backing paper (quite subtle, perhaps I should have used a slightly darker pink pen).  Well off to find something else to stamp and colour now, see you soon x

Meet The Menagerie

Maisie - What a sweetheart!
Gypsy - Bagpuss
Molly - Pretty, but Feisty!
Thomas - Standing guard...watch out dickie birds!
Well that's all of the animals, was tempted to add Kevin to the group but thought I would save that for another day :)

Demo card - Sat 25/02/12

This is the card that I have made as a sample for the demonstration day I am doing at Samuel Taylors at Embsay where I work.  I have used Craftynotions mica sprays and as this was the first time I have ever used them I was really pleased with the results.  Firstly I stamped the image using Versamark ink and then embossed with white embossing powder.  The stamp is a Woodware clear magic stamp, 'Grasses'.   I then spritzed the background over the top of the stamped image using Cherrylicious and Emerald.  I wasn't too keen on the 'splattered' effect that I got so I took some kitchen roll and blended the colours gently together, blending in an upward motion.  I then dried off the card with my heat gun.  I stamped the smaller border image, again with Versamark and embossed with white embossing powder.  I have kept the mounts simple so as not to detract from the image and just used green pearlised card and a matt purple card.  I have tied a purple and green organza ribbon and added some diamantes for a touch of sparkle (Think I was a magpie in a previous life as can't resist a bit of 'Bling'!)  Will definitely be using this technique again as I just love the effect and although I got my hands a little inky...not a messy crafter by nature :) ...It all came off with soap and water so I have nothing to fear next time!

Is it Spring yet?

Good morning everyone!  Well what a mild day it is today, if only Mr. Sunshine would appear it would be positively Spring like.  This card was made using a free pre-stamped image that I received in a craft magazine, sorry can't remember which one.  I have coloured it using my Copic pens and added glitter to the little bees wings.  This is also the first time I have used my new craft tool....The Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio Bubble Punch.  I chose some flowers from the background paper and punched them out using the Bubble Punch, really love the effect and the fact that I can make my own embellishments to match my project :) I added some glitter brads to the paper flowers and a birthday sentiment.

Sew busy

I made this card the other day using a Crafty Creations stamp set.  I stamped and then inked the receipt using Tea Dye Distress ink and then stamped and cut out the sewing machine.  I added a ribbon which I have inked and stamped with a ruler stamp and added a little charm.  The cotton is wrapped around the stamped cardboard reel.  I used a piece of dark brown card as a background and stuck some Kanban Velacetate which has gold sewing machines on it.  I finished off with three wooden buttons.  Loved making this card SEW much :-)

First Post...again?

Well I am finding this Blogging really complicated, thought I had already published my first post but now can't find it so here it is again :-)
