Giant Tags

Good afternoon all, hope you are all well, it's cold and windy here in North Yorkshire, a good excuse to craft...not that I need excuses, it's just a way of life :)

I have made these giant tags using my Julie Nutting stamps, I just LOVE them!  I have had so much fun choosing papers and dressing the figures, it has brought back memories of the paper dress-up dolls I had as a child.  I can't wait to do the next one....watch this space! :)

Hope you enjoy the rest of your day and thanks for popping by.

A Few More Art Journal Pages

Good afternoon everyone.  Thanks for all the well wishes for Maisie, she is improving each day, the news from the vet yesterday was that the lump that was removed was cancerous but she is confident that everything has been removed, we had an appointment with the vet to discuss what how she is doing and the vet is really pleased wit her recovery and has said she can resume a normal 'doggy' life, so we took her for an evening walk in the local woods, you would never have guessed she had just had major surgery, she was like a puppy :)

Well today I am showing some more of my Art Journal pages.  I am enjoying being creative and getting my thoughts down at the same time :)

Thanks for popping along to my blog and many thanks for all the lovely comments you leave.

A Poorly Maisie

Thanks for  popping in :)  I have been a little busy of late looking after my little Maisie, so not much blogging or crafting time.  Maisie had a visit to the vet last week after we found a small lump under her skin on her belly so as a precaution we booked her in for a check up with the vet.

Sadly the x-ray showed that poor Maisie had suffered some internal injuries, probably caused by being hit by a car which must have happened prior to us owning her as we got her from a private sale we saw on an Internet site advertising pets that needed re-homing when she was 3.5 years old.  This came as a huge shock to us both as we weren't expecting to hear anything other than news about the lump we had found.  Maisie's heart has become enlarged as her kidneys have been pushed up against it, her lungs were on top of each other, her liver had been completely flipped over and her diaphragm was damaged.  The surgery to put things back in place as best as possible, the repair of her diaphragm, the removal of the lump and a precautionary removal of her womb took the vet just over 4 hours.  As you can imagine Maisie has had to be watched over, pain killers and antibiotics given at regular intervals and kept quiet and lots of rest.  I am pleased to say that she is making good progress, her appetite is back to it's normal greedy self :) and she is much more lively, we just have to wait for the results of the lump that was removed and ease her back into a normal routine of walks and exercise.

Really hope that Maisie's previous owners were not aware of these injuries before they advertised her for sale as I was so angry that she had suffered and they hadn't done anything for her and didn't mention anything to us when I asked about her health.  Anyway, she is in good hands now, she is loved and pampered by both myself and Kevin (he treats her like a baby!) :)

Hugs to you all.

OK....A Little Art Journaling

Well here you are... these are the first attempts I have made at Art Journaling.  I think I have a lot to learn!  I bought a small 6x6 book from Prima and as I am not a 'messy' crafter (untidy..yes!  Messy...No)  I decided that I would just work on pieces of paper and then stick them into my journal once complete.  I am not sure that's the 'correct' way but it's my way :)

Page One

I have got to say I enjoyed making the background, I just struggled to find a pen that would write on the painted background.  Any tips, hints or advice greatly appreciated.  Debbie, I took your advice and applied the paint with a wet wipe and waited very patiently for it to dry :) (patience not one of my strong points!)

Page Two

I used Pan Pastels for the background on this page so didn't have to wait for it to dry :)  The edge is some washi tape that I have had for ages and never knew what to use it on, I think it makes a great border.  I have got to say that I felt a sense of relief at writing these words down, funny isn't it :)  I have found myself walking around today saying to myself...'More doing...less thinking'  :).  I've accomplished quite a bit today!  Think this worked as my 'Reboot'

Well there you have it...my first delve into Art Journaling, think this could become addictive!

That's all for now, thanks for popping by.

You Brighten My Day...Like Sunshine

Hi, hope you are all well and enjoying seeing some sunshine even if it is still very cold! :)

I made this bright and cheery card the other day using some new papers and embellishments I have had for a little while but not had chance to play with.  The papers I have used are from BoBunny, I just loved the cute little bee that came along with the stamp set, perhaps you can just spot him...I stamped him on Shrink plastic :)  I also used my Epiphany studio to punch out a little bee from the background paper and made him into an epoxy sticker.   I've used Spellbinders flowers and flourishes as the main focus and a sentiment from Lili of the Valley.

Today I am trying something new to me.  I have fancied having a go at Art Journaling and have started my first page, I am finding it pretty scary and glad that I decided to start on a small scale.  My first journal is only 6x6 but we all have to start somewhere :)  Perhaps I might be brave enough to show you my first attempt once it's complete!

That's all folks for today.
